HUNTINGTON, NY — These are recent arrests made in the Huntington area from May 2 through May 8. The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt. Derlin Sanchez, 40, of Huntington Station, threw rocks at three cars on New York Avenue in Huntington Station on two dates: Jan. 18 and Feb. 27, police said. A 2001 Toyota Corolla's front windshield was damaged, a 1982 Toyota's driver's side window was damaged, and two passenger side windows of a 2014 Cadillac Escalade were shattered, police said. A passenger in the back seat of the Cadillac was injured by the rocks on Feb. 27, police said. Sanchez also used a saw to cut down a chainlink fence on New York Avenue in June 2019, police said. When Sanchez was being arrested on May 4, he refused officers' demands to unlock the doors and step out of the 2015 Cadillac he was in, police said. Sanchez also refused to allow himself to be handcuffed, police said. He was arrested and charged with two counts of third-degree criminal mischief: property more than $250, assault w/ recklessly causing physical injury, fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest on May 4.Taborah Williams, 24, of Huntington Station, drove a 2009 Honda Accord on New York Avenue in Huntington Station with a license that had been suspended twice on two separate dates, police said. She was arrested and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of vehicle on May 5.
