Description
VIENNA, VA — Consideration of an animal hospital's expansion is coming up in Vienna, according to notifications in front of Town Hall and the town government's website.
Veterinary Surgical Centers, an animal hospital located on the basement level at 124 Park Street SE, Suite 100, proposes to expand to the first floor. The animal hospital first received a conditional use permit for the basement level in March 2013 and provides specialized veterinary services such as neurology, surgery, radiology and rehabilitation.
The 4,860-square-foot first floor suite would feature neurology treatment and a new imaging center with an entry waiting room, reception area, several exam rooms, operating rooms, treatment areas, doctor offices, restrooms, and break rooms. Hours would be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The animal hospital is not proposing any exterior changes. Overnight and long-term boarding will not be provided, with the exception of a few animals that need more post-operative IV fluid care.
The animal hospital is in a shared commercial building with numerous tenants. The second floor currently hosts a dentist's office, accountant's office, Vienna Hearing Center, and internist's office. Noise will be managed by soundproof insulation in the interior walls, acoustic drop ceiling grid, and the existing concrete between the first and second floor.
The Vienna Planning Commission will make a recommendation on May 12 at 7:30 p.m., and the Board of Zoning Appeals will consider the proposal on May 19 at 7:30 p.m.
