Description
BELLMORE, NY — The Bellmore School District and its three schools have been selected as a Common Sense District.
The digital citizenship recognition comes from Common Sense Education, a national non-profit organization dedicated to assisting schools and families in the world of technology, the Bellmore School District said in a statement.
It shows Bellmore's commitment to getting students ready for the 21st century at the Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center, Winthrop Avenue School and Shore Road School.
Teachers have incorporated digital media into their lesson plans to create and connect without fear of cyberbullying or online privacy concerns.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joseph Famularo emphasized in a statement the importance of using the internet appropriately:
"By preparing our students to use technology safety, responsibly and ethically, we are providing them with unlimited opportunities."
