Singer Songwriter Looking for Americana Folk Musicians
Meets
Vallejo CA
Description
Been holding off putting this out there, but thought I'd start looking. I am a singer/rhythm guitar player and I'm mostly looking for a lead guitarist, but also interested in a drummer, bassist, keyboards/pianist, etc. I've been playing for a while in various bands and write my own songs. Some influences: The Band, Chris Stapleton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Son Volt, CCR, Neil Young, American Aquarium, etc. This isn't traditional country and it isn't bar band blues music. Americana folk is the closest category I can put it in. I'm avidly obsessed with all types of music from metal to pop. I'm not interested in playing many covers. I don't want this band to be on the winery brewery circuit. Simple originals with feeling. Three chords and the truth. I have a day job and realistic goals. First and foremost is playing music with easy going folks. No ego trippers. No anti-vaxxers or right wingers. I'd like to record the songs and play live. If something bigger happens, then we'll take it from there. Rehearsal would be in Vallejo in my studio. Initially once a week and maybe more if necessary. It is upstairs, so you'd probably want something smaller than a Marshall stack to bring over. I don't mind you leaving your gear here if things workout. I will be building a small stage where we rehearse, which will also be a home bar in the future. I'm mostly playing electric acoustic, but I do have a Les Paul that I also play. Please know the meaning of dynamics and play with nuance, not with high volume. I'm honestly tired of telling the guitarist to turn down. Vocals will be in the forefront here. It would be great if you could sing back-up harmonies. I have an album's worth of original material. No, I don't have a demo recorded yet. I've just been rehearsing these songs. You would just have to come over and listen to them live. If you're familiar with the bands I listed you will hear a little bit of each in my songs. I'm all for collaborating or playing songs you've written if they fall within the general sound. This was a long ad. I just want to be clear about what I'm doing. You don't have to be a professional, but you should be better than me at your instrument. You should be chill and also reliable with showing up to whatever rehearsal schedule we agree on. If you're still reading and still interested please send me a message and we can talk further. Thanks for reading!
