Description
I'm a new (6 months of very serious practice) bass player reaching the point where I'd like to start playing with actual humans instead of backing tracks.
I can keep time pretty well, have mastered the basics of 12 bar blues, and have pretty good control of the sound that comes out of my bass. I'm even starting use my knowledge of scales to figure out bass lines from what I hear from a guitar as long as I know what key it is in. That's where I'm at.
We can start out just jamming, and hopefully evolve into a band that is fun to be in, and fun to listen to. Open with "Louie Louie" and close with "Wild Thing." In between, think Count Five, ? And the Mysterians, Kinks, Standells, Shadows of Knight, Remains, Sonics Jimmy Reed, Slim Harpo, Willie King, John Lee Hooker, Animals, Yardbirds, Pretty Things, early Stones. Classic covers and old standards. If you have original music, that's cool too.
I'm mainly looking for a drummer and a guitar player, and someone who can sing, but any other musical elements that would make a good sound would be welcome.
And one more thing. I'm nearly 60. The more Day on the Green or concerts at the Cow Palace you have been to, the better. If you haven't at least be comfortable with people who have. In other words, maturity is important regardless of actual age.
