County Public Health Officials Report 190 New COVID-19 Cases, No Deaths

By Editor, Times of San Diego May 10, 2021 San Diego County public health officials reported 190 new COVID-19 cases and no deaths Sunday. Out of 9,203 test results returned over the past day, 2% came back positive. The 14-day rolling average climbed a tick to 1.4% – a day after it had fallen to its lowest level in 2021. With the new data, the county's cumulative case numbers rose to 277,949, while the death toll remained at 3,725. Hospitalizations increased again, to 150, as the number of patients in intensive care units stayed steady, at 39. The county also reported one community outbreak for a total of 14 in the past seven days linked to 48 cases. More than of 1.7 million county residents have received at least one dose of the available COVID-19 vaccines. Officials currently have 417,148 doses on hand. Pop-up vaccine clinics will begin next week at popular sites, including community centers, churches and campuses. See the county's online list of vaccination sites for more information.
