PITTSBURGH, PA — Controversial and conservative local WJAS-AM talk show host Wendy Bell seemingly has been removed from the station's lineup. Her 9 a.m. to noon shift has been filled with nationally syndicated talk show host Glenn Beck. Station representatives told multiple media outlets that Bell was not on the air because of a personnel matter. Bell did not address the matter directly on her Facebook page. "All is good," she posted Monday. "Believe me. It's all good." Bell joined WJAS in January, three months after she departed KDKA-AM KDKA took the former WTAE-TV anchor off the air in September after she suggested that park rangers should shoot people who vandalize monuments honoring historical figures. In October, the station said KDKA and Bell had agreed to mutually part ways. WJAS is owned by St. Barnabas Broadcasting, a division of the Richland-based St. Barnabas Health System. It features conservative talk show hosts such as Beck, Sean Hannity, Dave Ramsey and Mark Levin. Bell's fans did not react well to the WJAS decision, judging from posts on the station's website. Karen Reitnauer: "You lost the best host on your station! I'm done with WJAS!" Cheryl Dick: "Are you really squelching the Wendy Bell show? If so, I won't follow this station anymore." Gary Miller: "Why would you take Wendy Bell off of your station? I won't be tuning in until your bring her back!" David Richardson: "Where is Wendy? She was the BEST thing about your station!
