ELM is seeking Gas Leak Survey Technicians to work in the Denver Metro area of Colorado. As a Gas Leak Survey Technician, your primary responsibility will be to correctly, safely, and efficiently conduct leakage survey as well as perform inspections on designated natural gas systems and facilities. This will require that you manage your own daily route, schedule within certain parameters, and that you are committed to the high quality and accuracy of your work to ensure that clients expectations and compliance requirements are met. Your specific duties in this role will include: • Following all company, client, state and federal code of regulation requirements. • Following all company safety, quality and operational policies and procedures. • Accurately complete all necessary data collection and paperwork requirements. • Successfully complete training and operator qualification requirements. • Represent company and client in a professional manner. • Accurately detect, classify and document natural gas leakage, atmospheric corrosion and abnormal operating conditions on client’s natural gas facilities. • Reading and understanding utility-provided maps and prints. • Develop a knowledge and understanding of underground natural gas system and infrastructure. • Communicating professionally when interacting with client, customers, peers and the public. • Receiving daily jobs via computer/device. • Accept and meet overtime and travel requirements. • Perform other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor Specific qualifications for the position include: • High School Diploma or GED. • Valid driver’s license with a good motor vehicle record • Ability to efficiently manage your daily schedule • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills • Flexibility and temperament to adapt to sudden challenges and changing work conditions • Availability for weekend and overtime work, as required • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screens • Knowledge of underground utility construction and your assigned geographic region, preferred • Computer proficiency and the ability to use GPS/mapping systems, preferred • Prior leak survey experience, a plus • Experience scheduling your own work on a daily basis, a plus • Ability to read and decipher maps, a plus • Experience in delivery or route driving involving production quotas, a plus Physical Requirements: • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain, to bend and stoop and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) is essential. • Walking between 3-7 miles per day on varying terrain and in all types of weather. • Ability to lift and properly use a 10-15 lb. plunger bar (similar to fence post driver) to punch holes in the ground when leakage pinpointing and classification is required.
