Ever dream of working with and around horses? Working outside, being physical -- rather than stuck in an office behind a desk? We have a part-time opportunity to work with these majestic creatures at a premiere dressage barn in Geneva. Perfect job for someone who has a full-schedule ie. student, stay-at-home-mom, horse admirer - anyone who would want to make extra money – pay dependent on experience. Work hours: flexible and will be agreed upon with candidate but estimated to be 2-days a week, approx. 3-5 hours each day, but could be more as needed or if Head Trainer away at shows.
Job duties include:
• Cleaning 6 stalls, includes raking, changing bedding out, filling buckets with debris and transporting to on-site waste area, dumping, cleaning and refilling water buckets.
• Cleaning 3 outside paddocks - forking manure, debris clean-up, ensuring water tank filled, etc.
• Feed up to 6 horses several times during shift (hay, grain, supplements, etc.)
• Handling horses for turn-out and turn-in.
As needed: Horse grooming, lunging and hand-walking.
Requirements:
• 3+ years handling young and BIG horses.
• Able to lift 75+lbs daily (hay bales, tubs/buckets of debris, etc.)
• Able to walk distances and handle daily physical work.
• Very reliable.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
