TUCSON, AZ — The Arizona Wildcats' 2021 men's basketball non-conference schedule took a step towards finality Monday. That's because the Wildcats have reportedly scheduled a home-and-home series with the University of Tennessee, according to CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein. Tommy Lloyd tells me that Arizona is finalizing a home-and-home series with Tennessee that will begin next season in Knoxville, with a return game in Tucson during the 22-23 season. https://t.co/k50SpI9DfP— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) May 10, 2021 The Wildcats and Volunteers will play two games in the series, beginning with a contest in Knoxville in 2021, before Arizona hosts Tennessee at McKale Center during the 2022-23 season. The two sides have faced off against each other four times, with Tennessee winning three of those contests. Arizona and Tennessee last met in 1998, with Arizona pulling off a 73-72 win over the then-18th ranked Volunteers. The Wildcats lost both contests they've played in Knoxville, 70-66 in 1956, and 92-73 in 1982. Arizona's 2021-22 non-conference schedule currently includes games against Northern Arizona University, Sacramento State, Illinois, Northern Colorado, California Baptist, Wyoming and North Dakota State. Arizona's previously scheduled game against new head coach Tommy Lloyd's former employer, Gonzaga, has been canceled, per Rothstein. Tommy Lloyd tells me that next season's game between Arizona and Gonzaga in Spokane will not be played as initially scheduled.— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) May 10, 2021 RELATED: New Arizona Basketball Coach Tommy Lloyd Fired Up To Lead: Q&A
