Cooper St.: May 144490 E. 16th St.: May 14 Borderland Construction – Old Nogales Interceptor (ONI) Sewer Improvement Project -Day work between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.The contractor has begun excavating portions of right-of-way property on the north and south sides of the intersection of Ajo Way and Fair Avenue. New sewer lines will be installed beneath Ajo Way utilizing a jack and bore method of trenchless horizontal construction (where construction crews drill a hole underground horizontally between two points without disturbing the surface). This work will require the closure of Fair Avenue to all vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic between Ajo Way and President Street. The ONI project is designed to increase capacity and install new sewer infrastructure in order to manage future anticipated flows along the new Aerospace Corridor and Aerospace Parkway.
