May 6: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Garet Place in Smithtown at 11:50 a.m. A woman was shopping at Costco when someone stole her bag from inside of her purse, which contained multiple credit and debit cards, police said.May 6: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Alexander Avenue in St. James at 1:32 p.m. A woman was shopping at Aldi when someone went into her purse and stole her wallet, which contained cash, identification, credit, and debit cards, police said. One of the cards was later used at Target in South Setauket, police said.May 2: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on North Country Road in Smithtown from May 1 at 11 p.m. A thief broke the window of a 2015 Toyota Highlander parked in the rear lot of Smithtown Health Center, police said. The thief stole a wallet containing cash, credit and debit cards and identification documents, police said.May 2: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on North Country Road in Smithtown from May 1 at 7 p.m. A thief broke the window of a 2020 Jeep parked in the rear lot of Smithtown Health Center, police said. The thief swiped a pocketbook containing a wallet, cash, credit and debit cards and identification documents, police said.May 2: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Grandview Lane in Smithtown from April 22 at noon. A Smithtown resident provided personal information to someone they believed was a representative from Amazon, police said. Multiple charges were made to the resident's personal bank accounts between April 22 and May 2, police said.
