Join Columbus Gives Back and Friends of Westgate Park in a community clean-up! When: Thursday, May 27, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM Event Leaders: [email protected] Where: Westgate Park Enclosed Shelterhouse (3271 Wicklow Rd. Columbus, OH 43204) COVID-19 Precautions: In an effort to keep our volunteers, event leaders, and non-profit partners safe, all Columbus Gives Back volunteers are required to wear face masks and observe social distancing as appropriate to complete volunteer tasks. Volunteers who are sick, especially with fever or the growing number of Covid-19 symptoms, should stay home. We highly recommend that our volunteers wash their hands, use hand sanitizer at the beginning and end of the event, and/or wear gloves. We will follow whatever safety policy our nonprofit partners have in addition to the safety precautions listed above. Any volunteers determined to neglect these precautions and put other volunteers or the people we serve at risk will be dismissed from the event. Additionally, if you were exposed before or test positive for Covid-19 after having participated in a CGB event, please contact the event leader or reach out to [email protected] so that we can best support contact tracing efforts. About Friends of Westgate Park: Friends of Westgate Park is a non-profit volunteer group dedicated to the beautification of Westgate Park. We add and maintain flower beds, create new pollinator habitat, clean up litter, and raise funds for park improvements. Formally recognized by Columbus Recreation and Parks (CRPD) in 2007, we successfully applied for our 501c3 designation in 2013. About Westgate Neighbors Association: The Westgate Neighbors Association (WNA) was formed in 2008 with the mission of preserving, improving, and enhancing the viability, livability, and overall quality of life for residents of Westgate. They are a 501(c)(3) non-profit civic organization, composed of residents, business owners, and others interested in supporting their mission. About Columbus Gives Back: Columbus Gives Back coordinates group volunteer events with local non-profits, organizes philanthropic happy hours to raise support and awareness for our non-profit partners, and participates in other philanthropic events while emphasizing our social twist: to have fun with volunteers new and old during and after events in the hopes of creating a culture of community engagement amongst our target audience of young professionals. #SocialTwist: We have begun re-introducing social twists, where we invite volunteers to hang out with us after an event to have fun doing something local! As of May1st, outdoor social twists will be coordinated at the discretion of event leaders and volunteers. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your event leader or [email protected].
