Position: Warehouse & Delivery Professional Office Location: Chesapeake Range: Greater Hampton Roads Education: High School minimum Experience: Preferred Description: Stable, business to business supplier currently has an opening for a logisitics technician /delivery professional fulfilling and delivering supplies, furniture and other goods and services to businesses in the greater Hampton Roads area. Requirements: To be considered, you must: Maintain a positive and professional attitude and appearance. Have a clean and verifiable driving record approved by company insurance provider. Be able to pass background check necessary for gate pass to local military bases. Have dependable transportation to and from work. Display excellent customer service skills. Be able to routinely lift up to 55 lbs and occasionally up to 70 lbs. Be able to safely operate simple hand tools and battery operated power tools such as an 18 volt screw driver. Be able to safely operate a motorized pallet truck. Demonstrate a work history of dependability and reliability. Be able to read and speak english and basic math skills. Have good working knowledge of the area. Be able to follow driving directions via phone or gps app. Own an alarm clock and know how to use it to get to work on time. Typical Day: Arrive 6:45 for pre-work coffee, etc., (optional) 1. 7 am: remove boxes from skids, inventory contents for accuracy and condition, separate into routes for 2 drivers. 2. 8:30am or when finished: load vans and run route- making individual deliveries to customers, placing items where designated by customer, obtain signature. 3. 2:00-3:30pm or when finished: return to office, process returns, receive deliveries, maintain warehouse and office, prepare for next day Some days include other activities such as furniture assembly, assistance at facility on Norfolk Naval Base, maintaining vehicles, and other duties of a reasonable kind as assigned. Compensation: Very competitive hourly rate with weekly minimum and significant seasonal overtime. Compensation dependent upon qualifications. Benefits after probationary period.
