The Courtyard Series gives performers an opportunity to safely show off their talents in Colvin House's stunning courtyard When you were young, did anyone ever tell you to stop singing? If you listened, we have two words for you: Sing louder. That's about all you really need to know to step into the world of kirtan chanting, as practiced by Devi 2000. The call-and-response Sanskrit chants are so simple and strong, they can take anything your voice can throw at them. And while they reach back in time to the birth of the devotional Indian bhakti tradition, we in the West also have a tradition of adding some rockin’ grooves you'll find very accessible. Check out their website. Helpful Info: Colvin House cannot provide parking onsite for this event. The first 20 cars can park free at George B. Swift Elementary school, just a block west of Colvin House. Please pull up to Colvin House's driveway gate (Thorndale Ave) first to receive a parking permit which will provide further instruction. For $12-$14, valet parking is also available at the Malibu Condominiums (6007 N Sheridan) public garage, just across the street, north of Colvin House. This parking can be validated by Colvin House for $2.00 off.
