Live music is coming back to our backyard stage, with violinist Mads Tolling and his band. Saturday May 29 at 4:30 pm The Sunjams team is excited to host Mads Tolling and the Mads Men to give you all a unique musical experience. Our backyard stage is in Orinda, CA. Come as you are to enjoy our comfortable venue and have some delicious food and drink. Complementary valet parking is included for your convenience. Mads Tolling is a two-time Grammy Award-Winning Violinist and Composer. https://madstolling.com MADS TOLLING BIO Mads Tolling, an internationally renowned Jazz violinist and composer, is a two-time Grammy Award-Winner and the 2016 DownBeat Critics Poll Rising Star Violinist. As a former nine-year member of both Turtle Island Quartet and Stanley Clarke’s band, Mads has spent most of his professional life touring internationally. Mads has been featured on NPR’s Morning Edition, and his recordings have received rave reviews in Downbeat Magazine, Strings Magazine, The Washington Post and The San Francisco Chronicle. In recent years, Tolling has played countless shows around the Bay Area, occasionally collaborating with other renowned artists such as Chick Corea, Ramsey Lewis, Kenny Barron, Tiffany Austin, and Leo Kottke. Your donation will be paying for new instruments, school trips and one-on-one music lessons for underprivileged youth throughout our community. We look forward to spending a beautiful afternoon celebrating good friends, great food and beautiful music! TIME The show will begin at 5:00 PM. Valet parking will be available starting at 4:30 PM. MUSIC Sound system during the show and recorded music in between sets is provided by our partner and wizard DJ Jose Ruiz and his outfit, MundoMuzik www.facebook.com/MundoMuzik TRANSPORTATION For guests driving to the event, complimentary valet parking will be provided starting at 4:30 PM. Please do not self park, as our venue is on a busy thoroughfare and pedestrian safety cannot be assured. If you are using a ride share service, your driver can drop you off at the valet station. For guests using public transportation, we are within 1 mile from the Orinda BART station on the Pittsburgh/Bay Point Line. From the station you can either take Orinda Taxi or the Contra Costa County Bus. Please contact us if you need to be picked up at BART. FOOD & BEVERAGE Cold beverages and some snacks available at the event, by card or cash donation. TICKETS General admission tickets purchased in advance include all costs for compensating our highly valued artists as well as valet parking. Forty stage-side arena bench seats are available on a first come first serve basis, and alternative seating scattered throughout the venue will also be available. Although not required, you are welcome to bring your own seating or a picnic blanket, as this is an oudoor concert. We will also have some picnic blankets available. For last minute and day-of-event guests, a small number of tickets will be up for purchase at the door. Each day-of-event ticket will be available for $50. Because this is a private venue and we want to provide a safe and comfortable experience, tickets will be limited. DONATIONS Ticket prices are designed to allow us to compensate our musicians - we believe in supporting local artists and hope you all do too! The cost of food and beverage as well as valet parking is included in our pricing structure. Built into the price of admission is a $10 fully tax-deductible donation. We encourage and welcome additional donations. If you feel as strongly as we do about the impact of music education, please consider investing in someone's musical future. We will be accepting donations on the day of the event in the form of cash, check, or credit card payable to Sunjams Productions (a 501c3).
