Lifting ladder event to benefit a manatee rescue organization of choice.
Athletes will have one minute at each barbell to complete a successful lift. Points per lift type:
Snatch 5 Points
Clean 3 Points
Deadlift 1 Point
Within the minute, if the athlete cannot lift the weight, they can choose to change the lift type in the remaining time. If the athlete starts the ladder with snatches, and changes to cleans, they cannot go back to snatch on the next barbell. Once the athlete changes from cleans to deadlifts, the rest of the ladder must be finished with the deadlift movement.
The athlete has as many attempts as they need in 1 minute to complete a successful lift. The athlete will progress forward each minute until they cannot complete a lift successfully within the minute. Score will be total points accumulated.
You only will receive points for one lift types per minute - in other words, you cannot snatch AND clean the barbell during your minute to accumulate more points.
There will be 21 barbells set up. Barbell weights and increases per barbell coming soon!
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a manatee rescue of choice.
