Join us on May 16th for a yoga event to raise funds. We stand in solidarity with India and her fight against Covid-19. Suggested donation$10 The world is witnessing India’s struggle with the horrific second surge of Covid-19 cases every day. The 7-day average is now over 391,000 new cases each day, resulting in an average of over 3,900 deaths daily as well (both figures are underestimated due to lack of testing and inconsistent resources) There are real people and devastated loved ones behind the facts & figures. India is not only dealing with medical shortages such as hospital beds, oxygen, and healthcare workers, but also the plight of daily wage earners, children, farmers, and other marginalized groups that are unable to feed themselves and their families. Only 2% of the country is fully vaccinated (34% of the US is fully vaccinated to put it in perspective), which means the spread of the virus and the surging variants will only continue unchecked. We are coming together and calling you all to join us in support of our brothers and sisters in India. Please join us on May 16th for a yoga event to raise funds as we stand in solidarity with Mother India, honoring the sacred teachings, infinite wisdom, and life enrichment that yoga has given us in the Western world. India gave us the gift of yoga; this is an opportunity for us to give back. Please join hands with some of your local yoga community to lift up, support and honor Mother India. On May 16 we will practice together, learn together and raise donations to offer to the people of India as a way to help honor this ancient practice. India has given us all a tremendous gift. This is an opportunity to offer compassion and resources, but also for us to share and learn alongside all members of our community some who perhaps haven't experienced the practice of yoga yet. There is no previous yoga experience needed--and all are welcome and encouraged to attend and participate with love. 100% of donations received will go to Give India. And IrieYoga will match all donations up to $1000.
