WOODLAWN, MD — Two men and a woman were shot to death Saturday by Everton Brown, who was then fatally shot by Baltimore County Police officers. Names of the victims have not yet been released. Detectives say four officers discharged their firearms in the 7500 block of Maury Road. Per departmental policy, the officers have been placed on routine administrative duty. Body-worn camera footage showed one townhome was fully engulfed in flames when police arrived in the 7500 block of Maury Road in Woodlawn shortly before 7 a.m. Officers recovered a handgun from the suspect, identified as Brown, 56, of the 7500 block of Maury Road. Initial calls to police reported a two-alarm fire and an active shooter. Officers met Brown, who was armed with a handgun. He was fatally wounded by police and Baltimore County Fire Department crews then fought the fire. One man is being treated for non-life threatening injuries at an area hospital. No officers were injured during this incident. Baltimore County Fire spokesman Tim Rostkowski told WBAL the fire — fed by natural gas — started in a townhome and spread to two other townhomes. He said two homes collapsed and a third suffered heavy damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. A damage amount has not been released.
