When PG&E did not turn off power in high winds, fires began and PG&E was tried and convicted of murder. Lawsuits followed. Penalties were slapped on PG&E. So PG&E changes their strategy and starts shutting off power during high winds and you think its a conspiracy? It’s a no win situation for PG&E. Damned if they do and damned if they don’t. The way I see it, PG&E has no choice to be overly cautious. Shutting off power is extremely costly for PG&E. They lose millions in revenue every time they do it. They must physically inspect every line before turning power back on. Very labor intensive. One last thing to note. Our power grid was designed to handle wind gusts up to 60 MPH. Due to climate change, wind gusts have become more frequent and often hit 80-90 MPH gusts. It will take decades for PG&E to upgrade their network to accommodate the higher wind speeds. If you have a problem with PG&E, get off their grid. But please quit spewing your silly conspiracy theories. Don’t be paranoid. Spend you energy combatting global warming instead. Or perhaps you think climate change is a conspiracy too. ???
