Requiem for the Sacramento Music Festival aka Dixieland Jazz Jubilee

Meets

Third near Tower Bridge, Sacramento CA

Description

Join me in your Sunday best or just plain 'ole black threads to mourn the loss of our beloved Sacramento Music Festival. Mourners who bring their instruments will be treated as VIP's and will lead the procession of a New Orleans style funeral march through Old Sacramento. This first Memorial Day in 44 years without any music wafting through the air lends a creepyness unbefitting of our beloved Jazz Fest. She deserves a bang-up final send-off in her old stomping grounds; not awkward silence as though she won't be missed. Monday morning at 11am sharp at the Tower Bridge - preferably the West Sacramento side so we can make a bit of a scene crossing the bridge (on the pedestrian path). I live nearby and will keep an eye out should anyone person show up to walk over to old sac to pay respects. Wish I had an instrument myself! There's a costume shop here in West sac on third if you really want to get all dressed up. Anyone who can do better than this post as far as broadcasting it as widely and as far as outer space is encouraged to. This is an unofficial, unsanctioned, unorganized, unlermitted and underground funeral procession (preferably like those in New Orleans) and you attend at your own risk. Any questions email me :)
