Meet Shadow, a Miniature Xoloitzcuintli from Oaxaca, Mexico. He’s been with our family for an exciting and unpredictable 2 months. If you know of the Xoloitzcuintli breed, they are highly lovable and also high maintenance, skin care, diet, health and environmental sensitivities. Shadow recently suffered a spiral fracture on his right hind tibia, from jumping from the couch to the carpet on his 4th day home. His cast is off now and he will need physical therapy and an exercise plan (starting at $250 at Canine Rehabilitation & Conditioning Group for first appt and exercise regimen). He’s the sparkle of joy and sweet energy in our house and sadly, due to unforeseen financial unemployment hurdles we have to send him to a better forever home. A home with the special attention, loving kindness, patience and finances he needs to live long, happy and healthy. This breed is beautiful, rare and special. Not recommended for first time Dogs and his special needs and rehab will require extra attention. He is not neutered at the moment and has received all his immunizations for travel and will have a deworming vaccination. With proper physical therapy he should be back closer to normal after about 6 months, we are told, giving his little leg time to get as strong as the rest. He has a bed, toys, sunscreen, lotion and food we can pass along also. Thank you for taking the time and we hope he can grow sweet and strong with your family.
