Tree North is seeking a full-time experienced climber to become part of our team. We are looking for a climber with a positive attitude and good communication skills. Candidates for this position should be willing to work outside in a fast-paced environment and on a team-oriented crew. Daily responsibilities include but not limited to: -Completing tasks as assigned by Crew Leader. -Safely and properly perform tree removal, trimming, pruning, deadwooding and thinning of trees of all sizes and species on residential and commercial properties. -Safely perform rigging and roping when working in confined no damage areas. -Work as part of a team in a professional manner and have good/professional communication skills. -Safely and properly perform ground work such as cutting of branches, cutting of large wood, stacking wood and moving large branches when needed. -Safely operate chipping equipment, including the feeding of brush and branches into machines when needed. -Safe operation of arborist equipment, including but not limited to chainsaws, handsaw, power pole saw, pole pruners, backpack blowers and hand tools. -Safely lift with proper body mechanics at least 50 pounds or use dolly whenever possible to haul or stack firewood rounds. -Proper maintenance and care of climbing gear and equipment. -Carry out other duties as assigned by Crew Leader. Schedule: -Monday-Friday 8 hour workdays. -Must meet at the yard at 7am (meeting time may vary pending on job site location). -Opportunity for overtime. Requirements: -Must have minimum of 3 years’ experience as a tree climber and a verifiable resume. -Must have a valid Driver’s License. -Must be able to wear required PPE as per assigned tasks. -Must learn, understand, and adhere to all safety rules/procedures and company policies. -Willing to work outside in all weather conditions. -Must demonstrate proper application of approved knots, climbing techniques and procedures, pruning and removal skills, rigging and roping skills, chainsaw cutting techniques and sharpening of chainsaw. -Must have good customer service and a positive attitude. -Must work well with others, be able to take constructive criticism and take direction from Crew Leader. -Must maintain a professional image, attitude, and work attire (proper foot wear and company uniform) when on site. -ISA certification and own climbing gear are a plus but not required.
