we are an orange county alternatice band that is looking for a bass player. we are a pretty dynamic band with influences such as wilco, ween, death cab for cutie, arcade fire, teenage fanclub, the pixies, real estate, kurt vile, the war on drugs, men at work, the flaming lips, the shins, devo, the beatles and so mang others. do we sound like these bands? probably not, but we definitely have our own sound and already have a first full length completly written that we are getting ready to record in july. we are currently a 4 piece (drums/aux percussion, guitar/vocals, guitar/vocals, piano/acoustic/vocals) and are looking for someone who is a bass player first. if you can sing, thats even better. 3/4 of us live together. all of us are in our late 20s and have done countless tours and have future plans of touring. we have a van, a lockout space that we pay monthly for, use a in ear monitoring system for practice, and plan on doing a lot of self producing and documenting for marketing our future albums and tours etc. ideally we are looking for someone who is at a similar stage in their musical career who is first and foremost a bass player (but can sing and dabbles in other instruments), someone who is a good collaborator and knows how to serve the song, not their ego. and lastly someone who can be a friend and communicates well and in a mature manor. this is a project we have spent a lot of time on and are looking for someone to join us in, but most importantly we want someone we respect and who respects us. if any of this sounds interesting, feel free to reach out! making a new connection through something like craigslist is always weird and hard, but we’re open minded and willing to talk. if anyone has any questions or whats to hear demos, send an email!
