Sportsmanship rule: • This is a non-competitive league. That does not mean you cannot try your best and have fun. But, everyone must play with good sportsmanship and honor God while they play. Players who show extreme bad sportsmanship will be ejected from the game as that will not be tolerated. o Team leaders feel free to help out and correct bad behavior in a loving way. Specific Game rules: • Note: Many rules are similar to baseball rules, with a few exceptions. • The ball was not caught by a defender after it was kicked: o After the ball is kicked, and no defender caught the ball, then if a defender picks the ball up and throws the ball at a runner and hits the runner with the ball, then the runner is out. • Catching the ball after it was kicked: o After the ball is kicked, if the defender catches the ball, then the kicker is out. This includes catching the ball in foul territory. o When the ball is caught, if any base runners left the base they were on before the kick, they must return to the same base they were on before the kick. o If any base runners are not on a base after the ball was caught, defenders can throw the ball at them to get them out before the base runners return to their starting base for that kick that just occurred. • Force outs: o Similar to baseball, if you throw the ball to a base before a lead runner gets to the base, then they are automatically out, but only if all other bases preceeding / before them are filled with base runners also ( similar to baseball ). o The pitcher obtaining the ball before runners advance to the next base is not an out. The pitcher has no special privileges in regards to outs. • After 3 outs occur, the teams rotate: o If there are 2 teams at a field: The kickers become defenders. The defenders become kickers. o If there are 3 teams at a field: The kickers become referees / officials. The referees / officials become defenders. The defenders become kickers. • Mercy rule: o If everyone on your team kicks in that inning, rotate as noted above. o No one will kick twice in the same inning. • Foul kicks: o If the kicker kicks the ball out of bounds, it is a foul and they rekick. o There is no limit to the amount of rekicks for fouls. o No one is out if they kick 3 or more fouls. They just keep kicking until they get on base or are out • No lead offs allowed: o There are no lead offs. o A runner cannot leave the base until the ball is kicked. • Pitcher: o When the pitcher has the ball, a runner must go to a base immediately if they are in between. o The pitcher ( or any defender ) can still hit the runner, if the runner has not made it to the base yet. o The pitcher must roll the ball fairly: No bouncing the ball No spinning the ball No throwing the ball towards home as a pitch No kicking the ball as a pitch • Game length: o All games last 45 minutes. o Since it is a timed game, there is no set amount of innings.
