An independent concert series under the stars at Lost City River North. Headlining act is Strange Americans. Presented by Do303, Lost City Live is excited to welcome Strange Americans on Friday, May 21. Music begins at 7:30 p.m. and the patio will open one hour prior to the opening set (at 6:30 p.m.) for attendees only. About Strange Americans: It's the kind of music that the Carhartt-wearing, hardworking, industrial beer-drinking, regular Americans would listen to, the ones who could end up on an episode of TV's Dirty Jobs. It's a little raw, a bit loud, unapologetic and honest. It's Americana rock and roll and it's something that Denver's Strange Americans are crafting with both brawn and finesse, like a hot rod mechanic bringing back an old barn find. In a sense, Strange Americans are rescuing something from the rust pile: straightforward, no frills rock and roll and a matching aesthetic that is heavy on songwriting and story telling, but presented with reverb-drenched punch and passion the way The Band or Crazy Horse would have done it. Strange Americans have three full-length records, A Royal Battle (2012), That Kind of Luster (2014), and Borrow You, Brother (2017), along with the 7" Vinyl Places (2015). Borrow You, Brother was recorded with Echo Lab engineer and producer Matt Pence (Shakey Graves, Centro-matic, Justin Townes Earle, John Moreland). Strange Americans recently released Swallow Hill Acoustic Sessions (2020), acoustic versions from previous albums, all recorded live at Swallow Hill Music in Denver. The band is currently writing and recording their fourth full-length record, due out in 2021. The concert will take place on Lost City’s outdoor patio at its RiNo location (3459 Ringsby Ct.). Seating options include tables, benches and individual seats. Lost City will offer food and drink to enjoy during the shows including cocktails, wine, beer, and snacks from chef Silvia Hernandez. Food and drinks will be served from a walk-up window to minimize contact throughout the venue. Parking is free - please park in the overflow lot on the southwest side of the Taxi complex and avoid parking in any spots marked for residents.
