Presenters Mike Patterson, Attorney at Law, is a Partner with Spencer Fane LLP. Mike helps businesses navigate corporate, compliance and securities matters. He has extensive experience in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, equity and debt offerings, foreign direct investment, distribution, agency and licensing matters and market entry strategies. He efficiently resolves legal matters by identifying key issues, focusing resources, and executing on a plan. Mike also regularly advises U.S. and foreign clients in connection with the establishment, structuring, and compliance for international operations, including the establishment of international distribution networks. Also known as “Miguel” after a decade-long stint living and working in Central America, he reads, writes, speaks and negotiates in Spanish. In addition, he has done legal work for clients in Canada, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. Highlights of Mike’s experience include: Represented a company through its lifecycle of product development, consulting with an international nuclear giant, and selling to that international nuclear company. Handled the successful resolution of disputes over earn-outs in the years following. Successful corporate representation of a distribution company in preparation for a coming offering. Managed corporate clean up and due diligence. Preparation the first SEC “plain English” pilot prospectus for an initial public offering.Worked with Italian owners of a manufacturing company to address their many questions about cost, timing, United States and international legal, cultural, and business issues, to planning and budgeting to formation of an entity and coordination of services to get them quickly into business in Arizona.Molly Ho is Senior International Trade Specialist, U.S Commercial Service Phoenix, U.S. Department of Commerce Molly has spent the majority of her career providing solutions to hundreds of business executives in the international trade and export arena. Ms. Ho currently serves as the Global Information Communication Technology Team Director for the U.S. Department of Commerce. At the Department, Molly has increasingly taken on greater responsibilities and leveraged her strengths serving as a Senior International Trade Specialist in New York and Arizona. As a Trade Specialist, Molly assisted her clients in closing overseas sales valued at $23.2 million. When the U.S. Department of Commerce partnered with Germany at the world’s largest trade show Hannover Messe, Molly led the agency’s client recruitment that secured participation from over 460 U.S. companies. Molly’s successful client recruitment significantly surpassed the goal set by the Secretary of Commerce and resulted in her receipt of the Commerce Department’s Bronze Medal. Additionally, Ms. Ho was recently recognized by the Department for her work with the Valley Leadership Institute for securing critical personal protective equipment for the state of Arizona. Before joining the U.S. Department of Commerce, Molly served as an International Sales Manager at Reed Exhibitions assisting over 300 U.S. companies expand their global sales through international trade shows. Molly also has experience as a Senior Account Manager at UPS Supply Chain Solutions, where she helped clients such as Hydro Flask, FLIR systems, and Nike manage their global transportation and logistics. Ms. Ho holds a Finance and Marketing degree from the University of Denver and an International MBA from Portland State University.
