No Education B.S. Biology Occupation Realtor with Kinlin Grover Real Estate Falmouth; 6 years experience Previous or Current Elected or Appointed Office None Campaign website None Why are you seeking elective office? To be part of the positive solution for the future of Falmouth. The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it. Climate Emergency; I want to work with our elected officials to identify and implement important and necessary measures for our town to bring action steps to strengthen our town's coastal resiliency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050, or sooner. What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post? While not exclusive of others, my focus is on climate issues, which are impactful on so many other matters that affect our lives. A clean, sustainable environment brings health and opportunity to our community, especially for those who are underserved. If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency) This is an open 3 year write-in position. How do you think local officials performed in responding to the coronavirus? What if anything would you have done differently? I think they did the best job they could do given the mixed message information that was given from state and federal sources. The computer system for the initial rollout of the vaccines was very frustrating for so many. That needed to be reworked sooner than it was. Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform. When our hospitality sector got hit hard during the pandemic it reinforced a need to bring other types of good paying jobs to Falmouth through encouragement of remote work, which requires expanded broadband to keep our economy working. I support greater efforts to bring sustainable, energy efficient, affordable housing to Falmouth, and will eager follow the progress of the proposed Davis Straits project. Also, it is important to continue the ongoing conversation on diversity and inclusion for all, and I support our new Diversity Officer position. To make all of these things truly what our citizens want, every eligible voter must have ready access to register and to vote. Therefore I am a avid supporter for mail-in voting. We all need to be encouraged to be part of the solution! What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job? I am a good listener, and hope to hear from our constituents on what is important to them. As a former manager at a large veterinary hospital I successfully balanced the needs of my staff with the goals of the hospital. I will bring that reasoned thinking to this position. The best advice ever shared with me was: Follow your passions. And, we are each others stewards. What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions? The year 2020 has been transformative for all of us, and it has reinforced my desire to be a greater part of the process to bring more good things to Falmouth. As a resident and realtor with Kinlin Grover Real Estate my community involvement has included raising funds for Habitat for Humanity through participation in the 2020 September bike ride. I also put my support behind the newly proposed Upper Cape YMCA, which will bring much needed jobs, athletics, a pool and after school and work programs to our communities. As a member of Falmouth's newly formed Climate Action Network (FalCAN), I work with others in our community and Cape-wide, to educate, advocate and support actions we need to take to save our natural resources and beauty, and our planet.
