collaborative fiction writing and improvisational movement “fict-ing”: a movement and writing workshop exploring fiction and imaginative thinking. Majesty Royale is a dancer, performance maker, and sound artist offering a class that explores collaborative fiction writing and improvisational movement practices as methods for seeing the world in full color. Over five classes we will create a tapestry of imaginative stories on paper and in our bodies. Consider a game of imagination telephone, we will pass stories between one another and explore the edges of the world we live in. We will move our bodies, but this is not a dance class, no previous movement experience necessary. This course is for: · folks interested in moving their bodies in whatever capacity they determine · writers looking to expand their thinking around fiction & poetics · anyone looking to engage the imagination · folks who want to express themselves in multiple forms at once · those seeking to practice community All in-person classes at the Tacony LAB take place under Covid-19 policies of face masks, social distancing, reduced capacities, hand-washing and regular disinfecting of tools and surfaces.
