Position Summary: The Janitor/Grounds Monitor position m. Duties include: • Mop all floors. • Empty all trash. • Fill all paper dispensers. • Fill all soap dispensers. • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, mats and shower areas. • Check all glass and mirrors for fingerprints or smudges. • Dust. • Wipe all table surfaces. • Assist in troubleshooting any issues that may arise, and if needed, defer to maintenance or front desk staff when they arrive. • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public• Monitor the entire facilities and grounds including: Pick up trash, clean lot, look for slip & trip hazards throughout the grounds and clean or report as needed. Cleaning and maintaining goat pen. • Pick up daily task lists from both the Facilities Manager and or owner, as requested by the managers. • Monitor the condition of all grounds, lot weeds and forest weed and grass control, goat pen • Daily monitoring of condition of grounds. Clean as needed, blow front of shop • Work on special projects like weed abetment, heavy equipment operator to level grounds, remove trees, clear stumps and cut wood, sometimes fix fence and other grounds responsibilities. • Two (2) days janitorial and two-three days monitoring grounds. Can work 4 day week if agreed upon • Observe and report any violations, landscape issues or other suspicious activity to a manager • Support Landscape as needed with front yard and common area maintenance. • Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • High level of independence and self-motivation. • Must be responsible, enthusiastic, and professional and have a flexible attitude. • Knowledge of mechanical janitorial equipment and cleaning procedure systems. • Communication skills important. • Proficient in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.. This is a very physical positions requiring a lot of walking, along with bending, reaching, repetitive sweeping/mopping, wiping motions and standing in variable weather conditions. Positions require the use of equipment, the use of cleaners. Some construction skills an added plus! EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: • High school graduation or GED. • 2+ years’ work experience in janitorial services
