Press release from the Wright County Government:
May 7, 2021
May 6-12 is National Nurse Week, a time to honor those who have been vital to the health and wellness of Americans for decades, but whose job has been critical as frontline workers in the fight against COVID-19.
The final day of National Nurse Week (May 12) will be National School Nurse Day. National Nurse Week and School Nurse Day began being recognized in 1972. On School Nurse Day, all school nurses and recognized and thanked for their dedication to our children, students and community.
Everyone is encouraged to acknowledge, recognize or thank a school nurse. They provide a critical role in ensuring that schools effectively address issues related to the health and well-being of children, especially over the past year during the COVID-19 pandemic and the significant impact it had on children.
On behalf of Wright County Public Health, we thank all our school nurses who work across every school district in Wright County. We are grateful to you all.
