MEET BAUER! Bauer is a 14 month old unaltered shepherd mix. He has a silly, loving and playful personality. We are moving internationally where we will almost certainly live in an apartment with little or no outdoor space. We are looking to rehome him to a family with lots of time to love on him and a large yard for him to run. We currently live on a little less than an acre and he loves the open space. Bauer is fully house and crate trained. He sleeps in his crate from 8:30pm to 8:30am. Bauer knows the commands come, sit, down, wait, heel, no, drop it, leave it, and crate. He is trained to sit and make eye contact before almost anything (going outside, coming inside, getting out of the car, waiting for his food/water). He is trained on an ecollar and loves off leash walks. He loves kids, other dogs (although can be nervous/submissive at first), fetch, off leash walks, going to Martin Dog Park, wading in water, doggy daycare at the Pet Lodge, belly rubs and any and all attention you’ll give him. Bauer is still very high energy but a couple sessions of fetch or a trip to the dog park and he is relaxed for the rest of the day. He would do very well in a home with another dog to play with. Bauer has been around kids of all ages since he was born and has done very well with our newborn baby. He’s always been gentle with kids. Some things Bauer needs more training on: loose leash walks (he loves walks but he pulls a bit when first on a leash or if he sees squirrels/birds), he’s a beggar for people food if not crated while we eat, he will get food off the counter if given the chance, he barks when he sees the mail/garbage truck, sometimes barks at unknown people. He is very playful and can bit a bit mouthy(play biting) when playing, this is a very typical shepherd tendency. Bauer will be up to date on all shots on Thursday May 13th. He will come with his crate, blankets, bowls, food container, toys/bones, collar, choke collar, e collar & remote, leash, brush, car seat cover, three months of heartworm medicine and six months of flea and tick medicine. Bauer truly has all the love to give.
