Bass Player needed for an East Bay Americana / Folk Band

Meets

Alameda CA

Description

Our band, whiskeyhouse, is looking for a new bass player. We're an Americana / Folk / Rock quartet (inc. bass). We’re excited to re-emerge after Covid, are eager to play some live gigs, and looking for someone to join us on this journey. As of now, we play half original songs and half covers. We’re looking for a highly rhythmic bass player (stand up would be cool too) who loves the Americana, folk, jam band scene. This person is a clear communicator, has time to practice, has similar musical interests to us, and is willing to do it for the fun (not the money, but you never know). If they can sing backup harmonies and/or play harmonica that's a plus. They must live in the East Bay (Alameda, Berkeley, Oakland, etc.). We like to practice every two weeks on a Thursday evening and at least a weekend day each month in a studio. Also, in addition to small local gigs, a few fun road trip gigs should be expected (Big Sur, Carmel, Gold Country, etc.). We’re composed of longtime friends and music collaborators with a mission of creating fun and community. The music draws on influences from Ryan Adams, Wilco, Jack White, Merle Haggard, and maybe a Dead tune or two. We hope to play BBQs, house parties (especially outside next to rivers, lakes, and barns), small festivals, as well as taverns and other drinking establishments.
