Jesus had church in a believers house in Luke 5: 19. The promised gift of the Holy Spirit was first ushered in from the upper room of a believers home in Acts 2: 2. Paul the apostle had church in his own rented house in Acts 28: 30-31. When Paul the apostle wrote letters to the other house churches, he began his letters with “to the church in thy house”, as in Romans 16: 5 and Philemon 2.
