Collage Quilts are sew much fun to create! Come learn the process with us! Collage Quilts are amazing and so much fun to create! In class you’ll learn how to pick and prep your fabric and explore placement possibilities. Start with a small simple project (provided) or use one of Laura Heine or Emily Taylor’s patterns to learn the process and creating a collage quilt full of personality! Skill Level – Beginner SUPPLY LIST Pattern: A simple pattern will be provided in class to learn the technique or bring... - a Laura Heine, I prefer her smaller patterns or… - an Emily Taylor Pattern, she has a free pattern on her website and she has two books out with patterns in them. Website: https://collagequilter.com/ Fabric: Lots of fabric scraps, fat eighths, and fat quarters* in a variety of color and value Lots of floral fabrics or theme fabric appropriate for your pattern* Background fabric* **Pattern Ease (Cotton Voile can also be used) for the foundation 1 ½ – 2 yards as per your patterned Steam a Seam 2 lite is recommended because it's repositionable, see pattern for yardage Fabric Scissors – small fine point like Karen K Buckley's medium blue handled scissors Paper Scissors Sharpie Blue Wash out marking pen Parchment Paper Applique Pressing sheet can also be helpful, but not required *Refer to your pattern for specific fabric needs, sharing fabric is also fun! **Laura Heine patterns call for this, I prefer to build on a background fabric instead. Before Class - Trace your pattern onto your parchment paper, background fabric, or pattern ease. You can also prep some of your fabrics with the Steam a Seam 2 Lite prior to class. If you are uncertain about any of this… no problem, just wait and do it in class. FYI – Fusibles like Steam a Seam 2 Lite tend to work better if you fabric is pre-washed to remove seizing. CLASS POLICY - Payment secures your spot in a class. - A notice of at least 3 days (72 hours) is required from a registered student who is unable to attend the class in order to receive a credit for the class. - If weather or other reasons becomes an issue on the day of a scheduled class, the class may have to be canceled. You will receive an email or phone call to notify you should that happen. Every attempt will be made to reschedule a class. If MLM Quilting has to canceled and reschedules a class, you have the option to re-register or opt for a credit.
