Looking to fill the following positions: - Crew Chief - I-Man - Rodman This is a full-time work position. High level overview included below but no limited to: Crew Chief: You are responsible for directing the field activities of the survey crew. This supervisory position requires your application of standard field techniques in carrying out a sequence of related measurement tasks. Exercise of judgment is required on details of work. Experienced in boundary, topographic and construction layout surveys. Proficient in the use of hand tools, and powered lift equipment. Ability to organize resources & tasks and manage to a schedule. Demonstrates accountability of self and others. Ability to influence others to do their best work while respecting each team member. Ability to work with diverse personalities and to communicate professionally with clients, suppliers, management, employees, and temporary agency staff Flexible and able to adapt to changing needs and customer requirements. Sense of urgency, but able to manage stressful environment while maintaining professional demeanor I-man: Required to set up total station, accurately gather survey data and perform a closed loop traverse. Must be able to read a recorded subdivision plat or a metes and bounds legal description. Must be able to locate property corners using a pin finder, recorded deed or subdivision plat or a metes and bounds legal description Must be able to run line work. Run work and ability to calibrate a prism rod. Must make sure truck is fully equipped every day. Carry instruments, field equipment, hammers, stakes, lathes, hubs, nails, etc. Carry out instructions and tasks assigned by Party Chief. Receives supervision on new aspects of assignments. Rodman: You are required to load all needed equipment into the vehicles before heading out to the various properties. In addition, you must have the ability to clear any brush or trees away from the survey line as well lay out stakes to prepare for elevation measurements. The rodman may also assist the crew chief in holding the prism pole steady to obtain accurate measurements. Qualifications: Requirements but not limited to: Prepare access areas by digging and cutting as necessary Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and traverse difficult terrain at times Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl and lift up to 50 lbs routinely Carry out instructions Mathematical principles Good time management skills Field survey methods and techniques Ability to work outdoors with long hours and sometimes difficult physical demands (hot and cold temperatures, rain) Must be reliable Ability to produce results
