According to the moonsighting, Eid ul-Fitr '21 will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 12 or Thursday, May 13. Reserve a prayer spot. **Based on county health recommendations and the family-centered nature of the Eid, the MCC Board will announce on Sunday's newsletter whether to provide an exception to Alameda County's recommendation that children 13 and under NOT attend an indoor or outdoor religious service. According to the moonsighting, Eid ul-Fitr '21 will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 12 or Thursday, May 13.  This registration is to reserve a prayer spot at the 8:30 a.m. Eid prayer on either those days.   *MCC adheres to the traditional principle that Islamic lunar months begin and end based on the confirmed, verifiable naked-eye sighting of the new crescent moon. Please plan to join us Wednesday or Thursday (pending moonsighting announcement from MCC on evening of Tuesday, May 11) for one of four Eid prayers. Based on space, you can choose to pray indoors in the MCC prayer halls or outdoors in the MCC parking lot. The prayers will NOT be taking place at a sports park or elsewhere.  RSVP is required. We will open registration at 5 p.m., Sunday, May 9 (watch for newsletter) and prayer spot will be reserved for either Wednesday or Thursday (based on moonsighting). We strongly encourage people to drop-off, carpool, or use public transportation. The MCC parking lot will be used as a prayer space. We will be using our neighbor's parking lot for worshiper parking (the former HP building). 2. All attendees must bring their own face masks and are mandated to wear them at all times during and after the prayer. You must bring your own prayer rug. 3. Prayer space is first-come, first-serve for registered worshipers. Once the indoor and outdoor capacity has been reached, we will be unable to let additional worshipers in. 4. Please come early as the prayer will start promptly at each time slot. 5. Each Eid prayer service will take 25 minute. The Eid Khutbah will be about 10 minutes. 6. Please do not linger after services. Please leave promptly to make space for worshipers at next service. 7. Every member of the household who wants to attend MUST register separately. Members of the same household may cluster in the prayer space. 8. Please DO NOT come to the prayer if you are experiencing cold-like symptoms, or have been in close physical contact with anyone, including family members, who have been experiencing cold like signs or symptoms. 9. Please arrive on ablution (wudu). The bathrooms will remain closed. 10. Stick to the social distancing floor markers. Prayer spaces will be marked with a six feet distance between worshipers.
