With nearly 10,000 residents in 6,700 homes on 2,000 acres, Rossmoor is a beautiful, serene enclave about 25 miles east of San Francisco. GRF employees provide a huge variety of services including maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, golf course maintenance, recreation, lifeguarding, fitness training, vehicle repair, accounting, insurance and purchasing. Position: Mechanical/Electrical/Maintenance Technician Duties and Responsibilities: Looking for a generalist Building Maintenance Handyperson who is skilled in all applicable trades. Duties may include inspection, repairs, and replacement as necessary of minor mechanical and electrical components, utilizing working knowledge of electrical, breakers, outlets, switches. Also requires some knowledge of furnaces, AC equipment, lighting, plumbing and appliance repair support, as necessary. Performs annual home/building compliance inspection services as directed. Performs related tasks as assigned falling within the purview of the Managing Supervisor. This is a union position with full medical & retirement benefits through Laborer's Local 324 AFL-CIO. Experience: § High School diploma or GED § 3-5 years demonstrated experience with residential or commercial maintenance Service, including appliance diagnostics and repair. § Excellent customer service skills § Team player with good time management ability Qualifications: § Knowledge of minor appliance diagnostics, repairs and or replacement, including furnace and air conditioners. § Ability to organize project lists and multi-task effectively. § Able to repair or replace light fixtures and ballasts. Knowledge of outside lighting systems; electric and gas washer and dryer repair; and basic plumbing a plus. Additional Requirements: § Clean and valid California driver license and satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continuing employment. § Ability to meet the Dept. of Homeland Security requirements confirming identity and right to work in the United States is required. § Offer is contingent upon satisfactorily passing pre-employment physical, drug test and physical capabilities assessment. § Previous employment must be verifiable. § This is a union position (Laborer’s Local 324 AFL-CIO) with full medical benefits through Laborer's Local 324 AFL-CIO.
