POSITION: Seasonal Stable Maintenance Worker DATE OPEN: May 7, 2021 DATE CLOSED: When filled POSITION SUMMARY: This is a seasonal full time position; responsible for general labor and custodial maintenance in our horse stabling area. This seasonal position runs from May through August supporting our Live Horse Race Meet. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Minor repairs • Ground Maintenance (mowing, blowing, weeding, etc.) • Monitoring Tenants on water control standards • Building Maintenance • Cleaning horse stalls • All other duties as assigned REQUIRED SKILLS: • Availability to work a flexible schedule • Ability to lift and move 30 lbs. • Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day • Experience in operating various landscape equipment, tractors and forklifts • Excellent communication skills • Must have a valid CDL and a driving record acceptable to our insurance provider • Previous horse stabling or track experience desirable • Ability to speak both English and Spanish fluently desirable • General knowledge and basic welding experience desirable The Alameda County Fair Association is a non-profit organization managing the Alameda County Fairgrounds with nearly 300 events held each year.
