CONNECTICUT — The state Department of Public Health anticipates that 70 percent of all Connecticut residents will have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine by the end of this week.
There have been 1,939,401 first doses administered as of Wednesday, and 1,467,381 residents are fully vaccinated, according to DPH.
During a news conference Thursday, Gov. Ned Lamont said that "99-plus percent" of the coronavirus-related fatalities were people who had not been vaccinated.
An additional 711 cases of the coronavirus were confirmed Wednesday in the state, bringing that total to 342,282. With 36,968 tests reported, the daily positivity rate dropped to 1.92 percent, down 0.68 percent from the previous day.
Reported hospitalizations continued what has been a steady decline since the last week of April. The number dropped by nine beds overnight, according to the state Department of Public Health. That brings the number of those hospitalized with the virus to 324.
