This job posting is for our Green River Quarry - located at 3675 Spartanburg Hwy - Flat Rock, NC 28731 Come work for a 97 year-old family owned and operated company with nine operations across North Carolina and over 215 full-time employees. General Labor Key Responsibilities • Be part of a team on the production plant that assists in maintaining a safe and clean workspace • Conduct daily safety and maintenance inspections • Perform routine maintenance and clean-up • Participate in planned and unplanned downtime maintenance with other team members • Help set up and maintain the plant to maximize production capabilities • Welding experience and being mechanically inclined is a plus – but not required • May be asked to run some smaller equipment to assist with plant maintenance, including skid steers, forklifts and backhoe (training will be provided) Heavy Equipment Operators *experience operating heavy equipment (loaders, excavators, skid steers, dozers) *experience operating heavy equipment in a safe and productive manner *experience performing preventative maintenance for heavy equipment (greasing and monitoring fluid levels) Attitude, Mindsets and Habits • a track-record of being a dependable employee; able to work demanding hours as needed • flexible and able to perform more than one job function with adequate training • punctual and reliable; good attendance an absolute requirement • team player and problem solver • enjoys work in an outdoor and fast-paced environment • diligent and takes pride in his or her work • being mechanically inclined is a plus; • welding experience is a plus Physical requirements • pre-employment physical and drug screening • physically intensive work environment; must be able to occasionally shovel, use large hoses and walk spans of stairs • able to work outdoors in hot and cold conditions, humidity, rain, and sun - including occasional extreme temperatures • position involves walking, standing, sitting, bending and climbing stairs Job Benefits • Full-time work (40 to 50 hours average per week; including overtime pay after 40 hours) • Health Insurance • Paid Time Off after 90 days • Dental and vision • 401K and Health Savings Account • Eligible for multiple annual company bonuses for achieving safety and productivity goals • Competitive hourly pay rate • Be part of an established, family-owned and operated company that has been part of Western North Carolina for decades
