GLENVIEW, IL — Glenview Police are seeking a suspect in an armed robbery after the department said that the person stole another person's dog after meeting under the guise of purchasing the pet and displayed a weapon during the transaction, police said Thursday.
The incident took place at 5:33 p.m. on Wednesday when officers were called to the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Police said that the complainant said that they had arranged to meet up with a man about the sale of a dog. The man then displayed a weapon, took the dog from the person and left in a black vehicle.
In an email to Patch, a department spokesman declined to provide more specifics on the weapon used in the robbery or the kind of dog that was taken on Thursday, citing an active investigation.
No one was injured in the incident. Police described the suspect as being an 18-year-old male wearing a black or blue jacket. Police believe this incident to be isolated and do not believe there is a risk to the public at this time.
