2021 Doylestown Memorial Day Parade Is Back On

DOYLESTOWN, PA — One week after canceling the 2021 Memorial Day Parade, officials in Doylestown Borough say the event is back on in light of Gov. Tom Wolf's plan to lift COVID-19 mitigation orders, except a masking mandate, on Memorial Day. The Memorial Day Parade Committee revisited its earlier decision after the governor's office announced plans Tuesday to lift COVID-19 mitigation orders on May 31, the borough said on its Facebook page. Restrictions on events and gatherings will be lifted at that time, meaning restaurants, bars and entertainment venues can open to 100 percent capacity. Borough officials thanked the efforts of the volunteers of the parade committee and the Central Bucks School District to bring back the parade. The application deadline for parade participants has been extended to Friday, May 21, at 4:30 p.m. Applications are available here. A mandatory meeting for all parade participants will take place on Thursday, May 20, at 7 p.m., at the Albert R. Atkinson American Legion Post 210, 315 North Street, Doylestown.
