Double-Shooting Near Crompton Park In Worcester: Police

WORCESTER, MA — Two people were shot and wounded Thursday night in Worcester's Green Island neighborhood, according to police. The shooting happened just after 11 p.m. near the intersection of Sigel and Bigelow streets, which is just a block north of Crompton Park. Worcester officers responded to the scene after an alert from the city's ShotSpotter gunshot detection equipment. At the scene, police found the 19 and 20-year-old victims outside a home along Sigel Street. Both were taken to the hospital. Police did not immediately announce any arrests in connection to the shooting.
