I am looking for volunteers who would like to get a heart scan. I am finishing my Cardiac Ultrasound Training and need volunteers to scan at the Arizona Heart Foundation. During the scanning I will be moving a probe around 2 areas of the chest and one below the chest. The probe sends sound towards the heart and listens for echoes. Then the computer changes these echoes into pictures of the heart. It takes 30 mins to an hour to do a scan. I will be looking at heart muscles and valves and blood flow through the heart. This is how we look to see if the heart is normal and if there are any abnormalities that can be treated. I will allow you to take pictures of your scan also. It is the same type of scan as they use to look at babies in the uterus but we look at the heart.
