Sand and Re-Stain Stairs

Hi! New house, but the builders sadly didn't do a great job staining the stairs. You can't quite tell from the photo, but the coverage is patchy and thin. I think the stairs will be better protected with a sand and re-stain. I'd love to hire someone local who needs the work to do it, but please experienced folks only. References appreciated! Please let me know your experience, availability, hourly rate, and estimate for the job. Thank you!
