RPK Development Corp. is now looking for both a Maintenance Tech and a Jr. Maintenance/Porter at our beautiful 280+unit apartment community in San Dimas. Position Summary (Maintenance Tech) Under the direction of the Property Manager and Maintenance Lead, the Maintenance Tech is responsible for apartment turns, work orders and regular property maintenance. Essential Job Functions Must have the knowledge, experience and ability to perform: Completing assigned work orders generated from resident requests for service Unit make-ready turnovers Plumbing repairs Electrical repairs Appliance repairs Drywall repairs/painting HVAC repairs a plus – if working with refrigerant, we require that you have HVAC license This position assists with the cleanliness and upkeep of all common areas of the asset as needed All other maintenance tasks associated with the daily upkeep of the apartment community Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS • We require a minimum of 2 years’ experience in large, multifamily residential communities • Experience utilizing Yardi Voyager/ Rent Café for maintenance requests, preferred • Highly motivated and able to work independently or as part of the maintenance team • Works clean and efficiently • Excellent organizational skills; attention to details, strong verbal and written communication skills • Works patiently, professionally and cooperatively with tenants, providing exceptional maintenance service at all times • Outstanding maintenance service skills Position Summary (Porter/Jr. Maintenance) Under the direction of the Property Manager and Maintenance Lead, the Jr. Maintenance/Porter is responsible for assisting in apartment turns, regular property maintenance and the overall cleanliness and curb appeal of the property, including the grounds, amenities, building exterior, leasing office, parking facilities and other common areas of the property. Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to the following: Must have the knowledge, experience and ability to perform: • Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the property in line with established standards, including the grounds, building exteriors, breezeways, leasing office, pool and spa areas, amenities and other common areas. • Cleans and sanitizes all public restrooms. • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, dusts, and vacuums hallways, stairs, office space and other public areas. • Operates equipment necessary to strip and wax floors, shampoo carpets, and pressure wash. • Maintains exterior public and common areas, such as parking facilities, walkways, mail rooms, laundry rooms (if applicable), pool and spa areas, etc., by removing debris, sweeping, and washing down sidewalks. • Work orders and unit turnovers • Plumbing repairs • Drywall repairs/painting • Electrical repairs • Appliance repairs • HVAC repairs a plus – if working with refrigerant, we require that you have HVAC license • Other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements and Qualifications: • Prior work experience in similar environment. • Experience utilizing Yardi Voyager/ Rent Café for maintenance requests, preferred • Must have excellent customer service skills and maintain a friendly and respectful approach with residents and staff. • Must know how to use appropriate equipment and cleaning supplies; must have the ability to safely operate equipment where necessary. • Must be able to handle daily responsibilities and projects with minimal direction. • Must be reliable in attendance, quality and quantity of work. • Must be able to read, write and speak English to successfully interact with residents and staff. • Must be able to solve practical problems and make decisions where standardization generally exists; Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. • Must be willing to deliver exceptional customer service as an important member of the property management team, providing a high quality living environment. • Both positions are responsible for complying with the company’s and community’s operating and safety policies and procedures and for adhering to federal, state and/or local laws pertaining to the operation of the property. • Both positions are also responsible for complying with all federal, state and/or local laws relating to Fair Housing.
