Re Hidden hydrology: shocking abundance of underground water

Description

As a guy with a degree in geology, I would like to say that your post is partially correct. There are endless networks of underground streams (aquifers) beneath the surface of most of the land on earth. These underground water systems are very similar to the systems of lakes rivers and streams that we see on the surface of the earth. Here is where your post falls short. Just as the lakes rivers and streams on the surface of earth depend on rain water and snow melt in the mountains to replenish themselves, so do the underground systems. Low snowfall in the mountains and rainfall in the lower elevations means the underground aquifers dry up. There is no infinite (endless) supply of water beneath the earths surface. The reality is, low rainfall/precipitation equals less water available on the surface and beneath the surface of the earth. A drought is a drought from the surface systems to the aquifers deep in the ground. There is no endless supply of fresh water. Spreading half truths as you have is dangerous.
