Food Tasting Tour and Walking History Scavenger Hunt around downtown New Haven to celebrate Juneteenth To celebrate Juneteenth (June 19th, 2-6 pm EST), the Afro-American Cultural Center at Yale (also known as “The House”) will be hosting an exciting Food Tasting Tour of a select number of Black owned restaurants in New Haven, CT. In addition to our Food Tasting Tour, we will be offering a self guided walking history tour/scavenger hunt of Downtown New Haven. Completion of this scavenger hunt enters you into a raffle for a potential prize. Please join our vibrant Black community as we honor the significant Black history in New Haven and enjoy a variety of cuisine– from Caribbean, Ethiopian, and Afro-Cuban dishes to classic soul food! *PRICING FOR EVENT: 1 round of vouchers $6 (student*), non-students $10; 2 rounds of vouchers: $10 (student*), $18 non students; 3 rounds of vouchers $15 (student*), $25 (non-students) *FOR STUDENT PRICING: in order to receive student pricing, a student ID (K-12 or college) must be shown on the day of the event. Otherwise, the difference in pricing will need to be paid on the day. To preorder your tickets, you can venmo "@AfroAmerican-Center " (please note the dash!) with the description "Juneteenth Voucher(s)" Otherwise, we will be taking cash or venmo payments on the day of the event. *PLEASE NOTE*: Your free registration through Eventbrite only serves as an RSVP; in order to participate in the food tasting tour, you will need to make a payment either through venmo or in cash. If you would like to donate to this event to support these local businesses, you are welcome to venmo "@AfroAmerican-Center" with the description "Juneteenth Support of Black Owned Businesses" and we at the AfAm House will distribute these funds to the respective businesses.
