Rehoming Parrot

I have a 12 year old CAG in need of rehoming. He was previously kept in a long term care facility, where his owner recently passed. I took him in hoping to train but the last few months have proven to be way more then I'm willing to handle. He was kept in the same facility for the majority of his life, and thus is quite timid of new people/things. I began target training with him, which after a week he took to very well. Favorite treats for training are sunflower seeds. Seeking continued progress, I attempted to begin training to step up. However, when asked to step up, if he chooses too, after completing the movement he proceeds to bite down extremely hard on the hand he's perched on. The last few bites have shown me he needs a more experienced owner to meet his need. We have progressed in his diet, he was eating seed mix, and now he is eating a heathier pellet/fresh chop mix. Will need to go to an experienced bird owner that has specific experience with larger birds. Email is the best form of contact.
